As a graduate of Hospitality and Tourism Management, the question of how to choose a career in this field in Nigeria is one that I often ask myself. The hospitality and tourism industry is full of endless potential and offers numerous career paths, from managing a 5-star hotel to becoming a tour planner and operator, to name a few. However, the reality is that Nigeria is a country whose main source of GDP is crude oil products, and the private sector's efforts are often neglected. Additionally, the industry's growth potential is yet to be fully realized in Nigeria. In my senior year in University back in 2016, I believed it would be easy to break into the industry, and many of my colleagues shared the same sentiment. We thought that studying Hospitality and Tourism was enough to become industry leaders, but this has not been the case. As a graduate of Hospitality and Tourism Management, I am thrilled to utilize this platform to educate the public on the numerous issues and prospects available within the industry.
